PNC Patio Sessions Performances Bring the Happy to Happy Hour
Local artists and bands are making Sammons Park the go-to, after-work spot for a cool drink, tasty nibbles, Big Ass Fans and great music on Thursday afternoons at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. The free PNC Patio Sessions are from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. They feature live performances by a diverse range of artists and genres.
“Patio Sessions was a great opportunity to perform for a new audience,” says Bill Spellman, drummer for Ben Folds Laundry, a Ben Folds cover band and Patio Sessions participant. “We loved seeing the mix of families, downtown professionals and performing arts fans all coming together for an intimate show in the park.”
The weekly concerts held on the patio (in the shade) outside the Center Café! They’re part of the Center’s commitment to present and support local artists.
“We are thrilled to have these free, live performances here in Arts District,” said Lily Weiss, Dallas Arts District Executive Director. “So many people are now back in the office. Having a place to go at the end of a workday, sit with friends and colleagues, and enjoy music and a drink – it’s a great way to wind down the week!”
And new this summer – novel food and drink options, thanks to our new concessionaire, G Texas Catering and Events. They’re whipping up watermelon mojitos and brisket nachos, and of course offer a wide selection of wines and beers.
Patio Sessions performers this season have included:
- Helio Portales* (Latin/World Music)
- The Shepherds* (Folk)
- DAMOYEE* (Rhythm and Blues)
- Serenata Strings* (Strings Duo)
- Tippy Balady* (Pop)
- Kane Vinson* (Singer/Songwriter)
Performances will continue through the fall, so come join us for PNC Patio Sessions for happy hour fun!
