Pegasus Contemporary Ballet presents, Synergy 2025, a groundbreaking production that fuses the dynamic artistry of contemporary ballet with the diverse sounds of Dallas’s vibrant music scene. Three world premieres will be presented in collaboration with DFW-based musicians, from jazz ensembles to singer-songwriters, who perform LIVE on stage with the dancers.

Through authentic collaboration, Synergy challenges traditional perceptions of ballet creating a live performance experience that transcends genres and expectations. More than a performance, Synergy is a cultural movement—one that celebrates the power of collaboration, innovation, and the ever-evolving spirit of ballet.

We are thrilled to announce the 2025 choreographer and musician pairings:

Choreographer Norbert De La Cruz III, a Filipino-American choreographer who has been commissioned by Ballex X, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Bruce Wood Dance Dallas, TITAS, Nashville Ballet, and many more will collaborate with Jacob Metcalf, a Dallas Singer/Songwriter whose recent album was called “an astonishing, sustained reverie” by music critic Preston Jones.

Choreographer Bruce McCormick, an Associate Professor of Dance at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance will collaborate with local talent Martin Morgan. Bruce has been commissioned by dance companies around the world, including Stadttheater Bern, Korea National Opera, Seattle International Dance Festival, and others. Martin, a multi-genre musician and graduate of the University of North Texas with a BA in Music Composition, is a versatile and creative composer. He can be seen playing keys with multiple bands and collaborators in many music venues across DFW.

Choreographer Gabriel Speiller is a Dallas-based artist and former dancer at Bruce Wood Dance Dallas. He has choreographed for Ad Deum Dance Company, Wanderlust Dance Project, Zion Dance Project, and Belhaven University. Creating with Gabriel is Leoncarlo Canlas, a musical educator and performing artist who draws from his experiences as a versatile contemporary violinist and in-demand session musician to connect with artists and audiences. As a solo performer, he favors the technique of live-looping to capture living pieces of music that create vivid symphonic soundscapes.

What audiences say about Synergy:

“Favorite show ever!!”

“Something new and a breath of fresh air!”

“I was absolutely blown away by the event! I had high expectations having known who the music collaborators would be, but the performance was above and beyond what I anticipated.”

$15 Student Rush tickets are available 90 minutes before show time, in person. Must have valid student I.D.
