Blood Drive Donors Serenaded by DSO
The AT&T Performing Arts Center and its volunteers hosted a socially distanced blood drive in August with a little serenading from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
The Center’s twice-a-year Carter BloodCare donation drive was hosted by our Front of House volunteer team in Hamon Hall. Donors signed up on a staggered day-long schedule, and temperatures screened before entry. The response was so strong, we had to add a day. A total of 67 people donated blood through the drive!
Each day as they entered the Winspear Opera House, and duos and quartets of DSO’s finest string artists were on hand to provide some live, in-person entertainment, a rare treat these days! They donated blood as well!
Even while COVID has slowed us all down, the demand for blood remains high. A donor can save three lives with one pint of blood. All blood donations are screened for COVID-19 antibodies.
