AT&T Performing Arts Center 2025 Bravo! Gala to Honor Shannon and Ted Skokos
The Center, in collaboration with Dallas-Fort Worth artivists and nonprofits, is bringing the Blues to this Dallas neighborhood that has close ties to famed guitarist, singer and songwriter T-Bone Walker.
(DALLAS) – Today, the nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced its 2025 Bravo! Gala will honor Dallas philanthropists Shannon and Ted Skokos, visionary leaders and supporters of the Center since its inception. The dazzling, performance-filled event will take place on Thursday, November 20 at 6:00 p.m. at the iconic Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House.
Since their arrival in Dallas, Ted and Shannon have made a deep impact on the North Texas community. In 2008, the couple founded the Ted & Shannon Skokos Foundation, which has since made major gifts to support the arts, presidential libraries, war memorials, hospitals, shelters for women and children, and Christian ministries, and has endowed numerous academic scholarships. In 2008, the Skokos Foundation made a $12 million commitment to the Center to advance inspiration through the arts in North Texas.
To honor their support, the Center named the mainstages in all three major performance venues after them.
- Winspear Opera House – Shannon and Ted Skokos Stage
- Wyly Theatre – Shannon and Ted Skokos Stage
- Strauss Square – Shannon and Ted Skokos Pavilion
“From the Center’s beginnings, Shannon and Ted have contributed tremendously to the organization’s mission and success,” said Warren Tranquada, AT&T Performing Arts Center President & CEO. “Their support has sustained our work to operate and program these world-class venues, expanding access to the arts for millions of patrons over the last 15 years. We’re grateful for their unwavering commitment to the arts and proud to honor their legacy at this year’s gala.”
The Bravo! Gala will be co-chaired by longtime board director and advocate Ruben Esquivel and his wife Alina Esquivel, as well as new board director Adam C. Wright and his wife Candice Wright. The event will continue its tradition of highlighting the work of the Center’s esteemed resident companies. The evening will be headlined by Michael Cavanaugh, made famous for his piano/lead vocals in the Broadway musical Movin’ Out. Handpicked by Billy Joel to star in Movin’ Out, Cavanaugh evokes a style rivaling the Piano Man.
