AT&T Performing Arts Center’s Blues In The Bottom Returns Memorial Day Weekend

Free Concert at Eloise Lundy Park Celebrating Texas Legend T-Bone Walker, Featuring Powerhouse Blues Artists

(DALLAS) –The AT&T Performing Arts Center today announced Blues in the Bottom: A 10th Street Homage to T-Bone Walker, Memorial Day weekend, May 23, 2026 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at Eloise Lundy Park, located in The Bottom neighborhood in Oak Cliff.  

Blues in the Bottom is presented by ArtsBridge, a community arts program of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, supported by BMO. 

The FREE afternoon concert features:  

• The Stephen Hull Experience: A high energy, soul-soaked blues force led by a self-taught prodigy whose instinctive, set-list-free performances fuse Chicago and Texas blues with raw charisma, fiery guitar work, and heartfelt vocals that captivate audiences night after night. 

• Gregg A. Smith and His Blues Revue Band: A powerhouse blend of Texas-bred blues, soul, and jazz, led by a master storyteller whose four-decade career, commanding stage presence, and deep roots in the genre bring classic blues tradition vividly and authentically to life. 

• Tamara Tramell: A dynamic Dallas-bred vocalist and stage veteran whose powerhouse voice, theatrical presence, and soulful versatility—honed from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts to world tours with legendary Lucky Peterson—shine brilliantly in her evolution from celebrated collaborator to commanding solo artist.  

• Performances also include local student musicians. 

Eloise Lundy Park is at 1200 Sabine Street in Oak Cliff. Free parking is available at Eloise Lundy Park and Recreation Center and Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center. Street parking is also available. There will also be food trucks and a local vendor market.   

We encourage people to bring lawn chairs and blankets. The event is free and open to the public.  

We believe the most impactful arts experiences are created with communities, not just for them, says AT&T Performing Arts Center Assistant Vice President of Education & Community Engagement, Autumn Garrison. We hope Blues in the Bottom creates a meaningful space to celebrate and share the legacy of T‑Bone Walker and the rich blues history in Dallas.

Blues in the Bottom was inspired by Vicki Meek, a veteran artist who has worked to protect, preserve and elevate the stories of the 10th Street Historic District, home to legendary Blues artist T-Bone Walker. Walker was one of the most influential blues guitarists of all time, pioneering the use of the electric guitar in this genre—a signature style that has shaped the sound of generations of musicians. The concert serves as a tribute to Walker’s musical legacy, and the cultural richness of the 10th Street Historic District, one of the country’s last standing Freedman’s Towns, and its neighbor, The Bottom. 

Blues in the Bottom was curated by multidisciplinary artist and Blues expert Tufara Waller Muhammad.  

When Ms. Vicki invited me to help shape a Blues festival it was imperative for us to center the legacy and spirit of T-Bone Walker around the Historic District where he and so many other legendary residents lived, says Muhammad, a fifth-generation Texas artist born into a family of Blues musicians. I see this as more than just a festival. We are uplifting and honoring the deep cultural memory and legacy of this historic community to ensure its power remains unshakable and forever imbedded in our hearts.
