Joining Ramos (trombone, music director, conductor) for the Buena Vista Orchestra is an all-star ensemble including original BVSC members Luis “Betun” Mariano Valiente Marin (congas, bongo) and Fabian Garcia (bass). Rounding out the lineup is Lorena Lazara Ramos Diaz (trombone, vocals), Andy Abad Acosta (keys), Aldo Isidro Miranda Alvarez (vocals), Geidi Chapman (vocals, guitar), Antonio Remigio Rubio Borayo (timbal, percussion), and Angel Menendez Otero (emcee, vocals).

The 12-track remixed and remastered collection showcases B-sides and rarities, giving listeners a deeper glimpse into the world of traditional Cuban and Afro-Cuban music. PRESS HERE to listen.

Ramos and his Buena Vista Orchestra first began touring and playing shows in the mid-2010s, becoming a darling of critics and audiences throughout North America. Featuring key players from throughout the history of Cuban and Afro-Cuban music, the new live show is a celebration encompassing everything from Guajira, Son, Danzon, Son Montuno, Pilon, Cha Cha Cha, Changui and Bolero to Guaracha, Ritmo Batanga, Afro, Latin Jazz and more. Continuing the legacy of this legendary and cultural movement, they aim to keep the arts, music, and culture of Cuba alive with a colorful show featuring a repertoire pulled from the greatest hits, many of which were composed by Ramos, and deep-dive cuts.

In addition to his work with the Buena Vista Social Club, Jesus “Aguaje” Ramos has served long stints in the world-class ensembles Estrellas de Arieto and Afro-Cuban Allstars. His past musical journey and history is brought into focus throughout the critically acclaimed 1999 documentary Buena Vista Social Club. Ramos performed on the beloved recordings of the Buena Vista Social Club and Afro-Cuban Allstars as well as the solo albums of fellow ensemble members Ibrahim Ferrer, Ruben Gonzales and Omara Portuondo. The 73-year-old Cuban artist has been touring extensively since 1997 with many Afro-Cuban projects, including the renowned “Adios” Tour, where he was a prominent member and musical director of the production that brought Cuban cultural music back into international prominence.
